Well, it's been a few weeks since I've updated the blog. A whole lot has been happening since classes started back up. My class load this semester is pretty full, but I'm enjoying it now that I've fully dived into the computer science. I'm still working at the same place that I was during the summer, but the work load has definitely lightened up. And that's good because...
Other than that, I'm still learning, planning a wedding, and waiting to find out what graduate school my beautiful fiancé will be attending next fall. Hopefully I will have more time to blog and continue sharing my experience.
I was approached by a former professor of mine, Dr. Keen. She was my instructor last semester for CS115, in which I learned Python for the first time. Back then I wouldn't of realized how much I would be using it over the summer trying to automate processes. It seems that they had a teaching assistant quit last minute after the semester had started. Dr. Keen offered me the opportunity to become a undergraduate teaching assistant for her class. While I was nervous about taking on more work, which I figured would be more intensive that I could imagine. I accepted the position and hit the ground running. I'm still trying to catch up, but I'm building confidence in the class room and learning how to interact with other students. It seems weird being "over" students that any other time I would consider my peers. Hell, I'm taking Matrix Algebra with one of the students in my section. It helps that I'm a non-traditional student (older).
